So I recently watched Forrest Gump, which had previously been very high up on my “Classic movies yet to be seen by me” list.

The title character/protagonist is a not-very-bright middle-aged man played by Tom Hanks (who at this point was at the peak of his career). At the beginning, we see him sat on a bench next to a bus stop, and he tells his life story to anyone who will listen.

A supporting performance that really impressed me is from Gary Sinise (who has also played Harry Truman and George Wallace), who plays Forrest’s commanding officer (oops, have I said too much?).

Overall, a very good movie.
